![]() Problem was our tank wanted as well, because of the stats. The Hunter wanted it because it was a slight upgrade over his bow. I remember I was doing a a 5 man instance, ZF with my priest and a BoE blue weapon dropped. That’s why the Hunter can only equip either 1 ranged weapon if you are MM or BM or 1x2handed weapon.īack in vanilla warriors, rogues, Hunter’s could all equip 1 ranged weapon and 2x1 handed weapon. Maybe they thought they just had too many classes needing on one handed weapons, also too many slots to fill as well. In my opinion, it’s all about loot and distribution. Now they can only dual wield 2 hand weapons. Warriors could also dual wield 2x1 hand weapons, a couple of years ago. It had many advantages over 2 hand users like double agility enchant, for raids.īut at the same time I see where they are coming from. You can try it and see what a dual wield Hunter was. There was a time when we could have 3 weapons at the same time. I started with this character, back in vanilla and all I saw was things being removed, one after another. I fully support more weapons diversity, for Hunter’s. Not to mention the mechanical issues with AC as a talent.Īnyway…it can certainly be done, it just requires some time and effort. The level of balance on that tier is horrible. But look at the opposite, look at Animal Companion for BM on live. Not aiming for perfect balance, as that is simply not possible. But as long as they actually take the time to get the 3 options on that row within a fair few percent, it would be okay. Having said that, ofc there would be difficulties with the balancing of such a talent when compared to other talents on the same row. Rexxar is of the clan Mok’Nathal so it does fit very well, thematically. I’ve suggested something like creating a talent called Way of the Mok’Nathal that would let you equip(fight with) two 1h axes. What you could do, is to implement Dual Wield through a talent option. I mention the Hunter since it’s my main’s class. I never understood why can’t a frost DK must be limited to dual wield… or a enhancement shaman limited to dual wield. Like having dps Warriors only able to use two-handers and DK’s limited to spec related weapons. Not be obligated to use two handed weapons and that’s it. Maybe people that are obsessed with putting things in tier lists, call a 3% diffirence significant and organizing things aren’t too fond of something as unorthodox as a melee hunter.I just wanted the chance to choose. Like, of course it has issues, but it doesn’t deserve it’s reputation either. I dunno, maybe i’m being silly, but sometimes i get the impression that some are just biased against it. On Warcraftlogs it’s also around the middle except the highest procentile, who also are the people least likely to pick it. I also don’t get this low dps noise, it’s nothing i’ve seen while playing and certainly not while leveling where my SV hunter did better than most. But that’s what the big boys are doing so people tend to emulate. Winning is fun, everything else is just noise and you wouldn’t make threads like these. ![]() It’s like saying other classes bring more ranged damage and you can get the utility from elsewhere, why even bring hunters at all? Unless you play at cutting edge content and/or you only view classes as tools to get you to the finish line, you don’t really give a crap if it’s melee, ranged, esthetics, class fantasy or even fun. You pick SV hunter cus you like playing melee classes and you want that batman utility. The other hunters also have that but i don’t see how that makes SV worse. Disengage is generally a godsend for just getting around and avoiding mechanics. There’s also fun tricks like jumping and turning around, hitting disengage and harpooning a target to cover a huge gap. Plus we have fantastic mobility, with featherfall and disengage you can straight up soar across Revendreath like a god damned eagle. At low haste it can handle like a semi- with a broken axle.īut i love the utility the most, as a SV hunter i have: ranged stun, freezing trap, stealth, sprint, fetherfall whenever i feel like it, healing debuff/ranged snare, aoe snare, an emergency tank, magic /enrage dispell, bloodlust, damage mitigation, damage immunity and feign death to cheese mechanics(add NE racial to that) Something i don’t like however is that it’s very reliant on high haste to feel good to play. It is very consistent damage dealer that doesn’t rely on cool downs as much as say DK’s. While other melee get’s shut down by certain mechanics SV hunters can keep on kicking, hell if you can’t melee at all we can just equip a gun, fun in places like AV. Survival is a very fun and versatile spec with a utility kit that rivals batman.
